To answer your initial question, I was in the same situation as you. I figured Cheerios were a good choice since I hated oatmeal. After more research, I decided Cheerios should probablly be avoided. My breakfast now is a whey protein shake with skim milk and oatmeal mixed right in. I can't even taste the oatmeal so I found this the best way for me to get it.

If you really want to avoid the milk you could use water with some ice and a banana or other fruit. Don't be too scared of fruit even when the goal is losing body fat, just don't eat a ton.
