Well to be honest I don't see a substantial difference. When you are actively working out your muscles store more nutrients so that makes them look bigger. When you have a lay off you start to look more deflated and that is all it looks like to me. I understand you lost weight but what you are feeling is normal. The last thing anyone wants is to feel like their hard work is going down the drains. But this won't be the only time it happens and you will begin to see it's not the end of the world. As you reach a latter stage of "maturity" you should find that you don't drop weight so drastically. Also, you need to really keep up with your eating during those periods.
