If you force your body to get bigger in every aspect, you force the arm/back muscles that power chin-ups to get better as well. It's not really that different from any other exercise - eat a lot, hit the big three, and you as a person will explode. Then go do some chin-ups.

edit - what i really should have said was, post your routine/diet and that'll help
