it's ironic to me that so many weight training publications (books, mags, etc) stress the need for good form and proceed to explain how to do each exercise with a sentence or 2! And rarely is anything ever said about the need to "practice"!

HIT advocates are some of the worst offenders of this because most HIT type programs dont even consider warming up totally necessary. A Jones and E Darden actually advocate NOT warming up with lighter sets of each movement prior to the working set(s)!
so how much technique practice is one really getting with one set of each movement and NO warm ups???
