Thanks Widdow.

Ross,

Sounds like it was a good time. I agree; if you want to do lots of smaller trips around to smaller places, renting a car is the only way to go. I spent about 5 weeks in Spain and Portugal a few years back but only went to larger, more visited places like Madrid, San Seb, Barca, Sevilla, and the likes. A car wasn't necessary.

This time around we're thinking of spending about a week in San Sebastian and Bilbao, then a week around Barcelona, then our last week on the islands somewhere. We may rent a car from San Seb and take a few days to get down to Barca. We then might rent a car for a few days on the island as well. We're really looking forward to it. I've spent a total of 9 months traveling in Europe over a 2 1/2 year period and loved every second of it. My missus hasn't been to that many places, so she's excited as well.

I don't we'll be in the area at the time of San Fermin. Even if we were, I don't think I'd be allowed to take part in the festivities. I didn't go when I was in Spain the first time either. Did you? I met a few guys who'd gone the year before. They all said it was "fun" but "deadly." Everyone gets pissed, doesn't sleep, then gets courageous and runs around with massive angry bulls. One of the guys got tossed and said he was thinking about what he should do with his second chance at life lol!

Later,
Jeff
