My problem is that I read this stuff, and I remember the data for the most part. But then when I try to explain it to others, I can never remember where I read it, so I cant site anything

I think that when people look at fruit they tend to have a skewed idea of what they are actually eating. Yes fructose in mass amounts can be bad, but if you look at how much is actually in a piece of fruit you might be suprised. 1 cup of apple averages 13g of fructose, which in the grand picture is very little. Especially when you take into account that fructose is metabolised in the liver, and does not have as detrimental of an effect on blood glucose that other sugars do. So from a purely ketonic stand point, its helpful.

That being said, I'd still rather have oats, or whole grain carbs then fruit to meet my macros, but the vitamins/minerals that are in fruits can be highly benificial also.
