Carbs are bad is getting absolutely ridiculous. Everyone should base what they do based on their needs not based on a one size fits all picture that paints certain foods as purely evil.

I'm thinking 8 pieces of fruit is probably a lot but it's like hrdgain said there isn't that much fructose in fruit as compared to the kind of amounts we are talking about. These problems in relation to fructose were brought about by the readily available sources of processed sugars...sucrose and then corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup and the like.

I agree with what Hrdgain was saying...like I said before, all things in moderation of course! But let me say that we as a society and as a "subculture" have been inundated by minute "details" that really should be considered but most people. I mean talking about ketosis, for most people is like focusing on a little bug you found under a leaf when you're in the middle of a rain forest. By the same token you can over do grains just like anything else. For one thing, too much grain in the diet can be kind of acidifying.
