Well that sticky is not an entire statement on 5x5 training. We have no such sticky. That sticky is in regard to that one particular program. The only people who should do that are those that cannot progress either on a workout to workout basis or on a weekly basis. The idea behind that sticky is you only "progress" on after a 4 week loading period.

Now at the end of the sticky is a link to an intermediate 5x5 written up by Madcow which is the "Bill Starr Power Routine". That could be done by an intermediate or a beginner. Widdoes mentioned "Rippetoes" and what he meant by that is Rippetoes Starting Strength program. That is probaly the most appropriate for you at this point to strart with.

Rob mentioned also the "Texas Method". That is a method more suited to the intermediate trainee.

5X5 is a WAY of programming. It is not just one program. I hope this helps clear up your confusion

BTW, I removed the statement by Madcow about it being appropriate for everyone as it is a misplaced quote. Not 0311's fault and he moved the quote but I just noticed the quote was still in the original post. Hopefully that will help with the confusion it creates

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
