Default odd pain in glute area

Hey, I was hoping someone with a little more knowledge on the subject could help me figure something out. I just got back to lifting after a long hiatus - I hadn't lifted seriously since about October (awful, I know) thanks to weight cutting and things. Today was my 2nd workout back and I started with squats. I did the same form as usual - A2G - with a fairly light weight (I was doing warm ups). But I kept noticing this small sharp pain at maybe the very top of my glutes that eventually bothered me enough to make me switch to deadlifts, where it didn't bother at all. It felt sort of like a pinprick - a sharp, shooting pain as I was coming back up out of the squat. As I said, DLs didn't hurt at all and it was fine thereafter. But I don't want to aggravate something there by being cavalier about it.

I'd really appreciate if anyone who knows sports injuries could help me out - I hope I've given enough detail about it. Thanks a lot.
