Real food is better than whey. Try and get your protein from real food and remember that whey is a supplement for a reason.

Try using 1.5grams per pound of lean body weight. Which means you should subtract your fat from your total body weight and use that weight. There is a ceiling on how much protein you can take in, if your body doesn't need it then you're going to just crap it out and those forcefeeds/shakes were in vain.

52 grams is not too much to take in, but smaller and more frequent meals are better.
