Being that most common high protein foods contain more than enough of all the essential aminos plus a whole bunch of other ones...in other words: protein, you should really re-think spending loads of money on what comes down to a few grams of protein.

The supplement market has somehow conviced people that amino's themselves are magic bullets. The placebo effect runs high. If you are going to spend money on this I would recommend also bcaa's and perhaps citrulline malate in bulk...and then you need to take a bunch of it in order for it to "do" something. A gram or two of amino's in pill form is just throwing away money.

Amino's are the building blocks of protein. They are not little magic bullets. I'd spend the money on food and whey and bcaa's if you want to splurge.

Let me point out something, btw, about studies using free amino mixtures to experiment on. The choices made in studies have specific reasons. One reason is that because with free aminos they can put tracers on certain ones to see what happens to them. It is a practical thing and has very little bearing on free amino's and the long term outcome of taking them.

If you are going to buy aminos make sure to check the supplement facts before purchasing. Many so-called amino products do not contain free form aminos. The label should list them out if they do. A lot of the products are nothing more than some whole protien isolates stuck in a pill....very expensive way to purchase whey, casein, or soy...

One of the tricks is they used the phrase "derived from". Optimum superior, if that is the one your were talking about, does this. It's just some concetrates and peptides. Then they list out the typical aminos that would be found in those powders. They don't "derive" anything, lol, your body does. They just have basically stuck a protein powder in a pill and charged you extra for it. Nice. Even if a label does list out aminos first be careful to read the fine print underneath since it may say "FROM so and so".

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
