Talking Noob in the house

I'm new to the forums, but I'm not a stranger to working out. I've been lifting seriously off and on since Junior year in high school, and I have always been into sports.

At the beginning of Junior year in high school, I was 180lbs. I started hitting the gym regularly and was more of a power lifter. By the beginning of senior year, I was 220. At 6'1", that wasn't huge, but I was pretty big with probably about 15% bodyfat.

In college I slacked off, as most people do, and my weight fluctuated anywhere from 190 to 245! After college, I still went to the gym, and I tried to get my nutrition on track. After succeeding and then failing several times, I decided it was time to get serious. I've never been shredded in my life, and I want to see what I'm made of.

I'm getting married in just over 2 months, and I want every woman at my wedding (except my mom ) to be jealous of my fiance. I enlisted the expertise of a local guy to help me shape a meal plan that would help me do this. After all, as we all know, diet is about 90% of the battle. My fiance is a licensed exercise physiologist, so she helped me with my workout plan. With all the research I did, and all the advice I got, I arrived at a plan that worked, and still is working, for me.

I began doing my own thing in October of '07 and I was 235lbs. By the time 2008 came around, I was down to around 222lbs. This is when I decided that it was time to get serious. I "revamped" my life, started a new job, and a new goal to get ripped!

In just under seven weeks, I have gone from 215 down to 201. All of my weight lifting has improved, my health has improved dramatically, and I'm on my way to being cut. My initial bodyfat measured in at 15%, and I will be getting it taken again at my goal date.

The goal I set is 190lbs at 8% BF by 5/31/08. To get the absolute shredded look I may have to go to 6% BF, but I know that I shouldn't go below that.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and see you around the forums!
