If you just finished the second workout, you still have another day to recover. Even if you are sore (fatigue sore) you can still workout on friday.

Like Ross said, check your form and make sure you aren't rounding your back on the deads. Muscular pain is alright since, afterall, you are stabilizing with your lower back. Just because it isn't moving or contracting doesn't mean it isn't working, in this case I'd say that it is.
