There should be a little blinking icon on the navbar when you get a pm now and indicates who sent you it. There is also an option you can check in your user cp that makes a popup display when you have a pm. I went ahead and changed the default option to have this enabled for new users, but if registered members want it they will have to go into their options and change it themselves.
