He's wearing a squat suit. I'm not sure but I think it's a metal pro two ply. The suits pretty much force you into that position from what I know and powerlfiters squat that way to maximize the benifits of the suit.

This is another case in point of what I keep saying but I don't really think people want to except. Powerlifters DON'T CARE about what anyone thinks of their stance. They don't care about "being strong". They only care about putting as much weight up in the contested lifts as they can within the rules of their organization.

If you like the sport, and follow it, you will be impressed. If you don't like the sport, and don't follow it, you will be underwhelmed. The point is though that what makes a powerlifter good is not what makes a strongman good, or a OL good.
