DFT is not simple linear progression. It is a 4 to 6 week volume loading cycle based on planned overreaching followed by a "deoad/peak". We need to take down the sticky.

Anuj explained the various "stages" of 5x5 training very well. Except it doesn't have to be 5 pounds at a time. The only thing I will add to that is these "funda" really only make absolute sense if someone is to continue with volume 5x5 training. It is a model that fits that. Otherwise the way people progress can vary widely and it is very important not to try to absolutely fit Rippetoe's model to all methods. His model leads to HIS method. For myself I think his model becomes very counterproductive past the beginner/intermediate stage. But that's just IMHO.

Not using the cylcles would be stupid because it would be a whole bunch of volume to use for a linear basis which means SHIT LIGHT WEIGHTS. And it wouldn't be DFT program.

Yes, it is very possible that different exercises will have different "training ages" and this need to be attacked differently. This is a big problem with standard 5x5 formats as every exercise is trained exactly the same regardless of the individuals needs.

Just like in the other thread, I am beginning to think that Dark is just bullshitting everyone. The numbers speak for themselves.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
