^^ Most wieght gainers are not just pro/carbs, they contain high amounts of fats as well. Just go look at muscle milk's label. Some are much better then others, and you can even find weight gainers that use only low GI carbs ...
Edit: Because they contain fats, they are not good choices for pre or post workout shakes ... thought I'd mention that.
it all depends on what you are willing to pay for ... but 9 times out of 10 its going to be cheaper to go with regular food, IMO.
