You can know every damn thing about aerodynamics and the perfect conditions to run the fastest race possible, down to the lifting effects of hot air rising off of dark surfaces and gravitational pull relative to your elevation above sea level and frictional forces based on the type of fabric you are wearing and... in the end all of that knowledge will amount to what, if you aren't training, eating and sleeping.
Like any hobby, you can make it as simple or complex as you desire, but thinking it HAS to be comlex to work is simply not true. Some of the most amazing physical feats were done in a time where people didn't know about conjugated training, or supplements, or even "the pump." Not that these things are bad, but it should make you wonder how necessary they are, or if we are complicating things just to look for a miracle (you know, the idea that we can lift for five minutes, eat whatever we want, pop a pill and everyone looks like Arnold).
