Well people generally use SS when they are beginners (duh). You usually don't make alot of huge mass gains as a beginner because, honestly, your CNS is so shitty at making your body move weights that all (or at least most) of the gains you'll make on this program will be your body coming up to speed on *how* to lift. They call this "newbie gains" alot of the time.

Also, SS is used to learn how to do the lifts properly. You start with light weight and you (are supposed to anyways) learn the correct form to use to lift the weights properly. Even if a newb wants only to "gain size" I would still reccomend SS. Its a great building block for almost anyone that wants to lift weights wether it be for strength or size. You must understand going into it though that you cannot do this program forever and it will not give you good gains forever as it becomes overtraining after a while.

If these things are understood before moving into the program then I think you are ready to take your body to new places.

Thats my speech for the day. lol
