Yeah, these guys are right. It's all about range of motion, etc..

Honestly I used to do just treadmill or rowing machine for pre-lifting then on to my specific weight warmup. Then I started adding dynamic stretches here and there and adding some slower stretches for problem areas and using more rom in general during warmup (without really a clue or plan) and that was a big improvement over the "cardio". Then once I moved on to the real deal laid out by the pro's...I could never go back. The improvements in every way are remarkable.

P.S. the mobility warmups WILL get the pulse up, don't worry about that . Logically, you wont to save the more strenuous drills for the end of the warm-up. But some of the drills, even though they look like nothing at first glance, given the stability component they really can get you out of breath at first.

Given all that it won't hurt you to spend some time on a treadmill before the mobility.....or will it?
