Years ago I was in Toulon France and they had what we called "Smashed Sandwich's". I have no idea what the french call them but you could order them with pretty much whatever you wanted added and they would smash it like that. We would walk around (4 times bigger than the average frenchie) and eat the things until we were stuffed! They were unbelievable. I'd love to go back there some day but with airfare being what it is.... But that's another subject.
And yeah, your version sounds great. Gonna have to try that on my cheat days.
