Nutrient timing is pretty important. I can't think of anything that you can eat that would keep your body readily supplied with nutrients over a +8 hour period. The enhanced anabolic environment that is present after a fast just means that your body has been deprived over the past several hours and is trying to make up for it. It's good that it works well for you, however I don't believe it's optimal. It would be a good way to maintain one's sanity though.
I've been eating 4000-6000 cals/day. Today I've only taken in about 1500 & I expect I'll end up with around 3000 cals. Sometimes after a 6000 calorie day, I just don't want to eat for the entire next day. I might try this out & use it occasionally.
