By cut out, I mean don't do it. You said the answer yourself, I bolded it anyway though I think I was suggesting the opposite of going lighter and doing more reps, afterall I said you should be getting rid of the high rep low weight sets...

Pace is not important so long as your not bouncing the bar off your chest. Resting it for 5-10 seconds is not necessary for you imo.
