To some extent I agree with that. But controlled breathing can help. This is sort of like partially holding your breath or pushing out against a closed glotis and then allowing a full realease after the sticking point. But this sort of thing is only necesary on big heavy lifts. High rep light stuff and isolations...things like that...you should be able to breath naturally.
