What I've found also is that all the static core moves, planks side planks, varitations, all sorts of other core stuff contribute to flattening the belly. Again, in case someone comes in to this late...we are not talking about spot burning, lol.

Anyway, MR goes into this in some depth and to some extent it comes down to proper postural alignment. It's a kind of thing where looking better actually does mean you ARE better, lol.
