I support the death penalty and feel that it's most important function is giving closure to the loved ones of the victim.

It's not a criminal deterrant... those fuckers are too stupid or mentally screwed to fear something. Hell, some of the serial killers actually wanted to get caught....

Another thought.... jail them and put em in general population, (look what happened to Bundy).
