Default running vs muscle gain advice

before when i was running about 3 to 4 times a week (for about 30 min) seemed like it was harder for me to put on mass. now i switched to doing sprints instead and i seems like i been putting on more mass than before, but i can tell i dont really have that endurance like i used to. is there any happy medium here?
