Like he said fuck em. No use in beating your head against the wall over a row. I get very little from barbell rows as well.
I understand the question from Pity, though. I think it's a good approach, but only for more complex fundamental movement patterns. It is probably an exercise in futility to spend time analysing what is wrong with a barbell row if there is nothing wrong with your other rows. On the other hand, if you seem to be physically incapable of doing, for instance, a proper lunge or variation thereof, you might want to figure that out.
Am I making sense?
Barbell rows have become dogma. Personally EVERY row I do besides barbell rows works better for me. When I say works better I am, of course also referring to how well I can maintain quality movement and how injury free I stay.
Hell...I haven't done a barbell row in at least 4 or 5 months. Honestly. And I could care less.
