Default clean and press?

so i've noticed a lot of guys doin clean and press's in the gym lately
I've never tried them myself and i'm interested in including them in my routine... what's the best way to start so i can make sure i am using proper form? just doing it with the bar? do many of you guys do them? and what are the benefits of them/have you got from them?
