Yeah I think this is a problem with semantics.

When you say you want a 5x5 workout for abs that makes it sound like you are looking for a full workout for abs.

There is no such thing as a 5x5 routine for abs. You can do 5x5 reps for abs if you want but that is not a "workout" that is just one part of a workout.

When you say workout in terms of one exercise it makes it sound like you wish to devote an entire day to just your abs.

So anyway, like the others said you can throw in ab work throughout the week.


You'd be much better served doing static core work, anti-rotation, and other core work of that nature. This too grows your abs.

For abdominal flexion though I do either leg raises or reverse curls and janda situps.
