It's a good idea to ask questions and plan for the future but the problem is you don't necessarily know the right questions yet. If you ask the wrong questions you will get irrelevant information based on those questions because most people will just give you a standard answer without considering anything about you.

I started to answer your last question in a very simple way but reading it I can see you are combining concepts and I'm not sure what I should say.

You basically just asked about 'cutting'. Cutting is stripping off the last few digtis of stubborn fat (and perhaps dehydrating) to be ready to get in your speedos and step on stage. Fatloss and or weight management is not the same as cutting. Cutting takes very tough regimented measures and to maintain it it's incredible difficult.

To leave the concept of cutting out of it: You won't melt away your muscle like the incredible melting man just because you take a run. Not a bad idea to have a bit of protein before a run.
