the only advice i can really give is for when you get back to the gym at school. Do yourself a favor and dont overtrain. I was in the habit of doing this in high school, hitting bodyparts twice a week, and while it did help me cut, I saw very few strength gains from it.

As soon as i cut back, my wieghts shot up.

and your dam right wieghts are exspensive. there is really no way around it, but if you try sams club, bj's, or costco they should have them a little cheaper.
