Default Wikipedia definitions vs 5x5?

Had a real quick question that someone could probably answer off the top of their heads. Wikipedia defines the two different hypertrophy states below. But I thought increasings reps wasn't a goal to get "bigger" but keeping the same reps and lifting more weight.. 5x5 style?
Am I wrong.. probably... but just wanted to get this cleared.

Wikipedia:

Weight training aims to build muscle by prompting two different types of hypertrophy: sarcoplasmic hypertrophy and myofibrillar hypertrophy. Sarcoplasmic hypertrophy leads to larger muscles so is favored by bodybuilders more than myofibrillar hypertrophy which builds athletic strength. Sarcoplasmic hypertrophy is triggered by increasing repetitions, whereas myofibrillar hypertrophy is triggered by lifting heavier weights.[9] In either case, there is an increase in size and strength of the muscles (compared to if that same individual does not lift weights at all). However, the emphasis is different
