You may be able to out eat your buddies but that doesn't really matter. You have to be able to do eat big day in and day out. You have to consistently hit your calorie surplus and I guarantee you'll gain weight. In paralell to that if you're training right some of that weight may even be muscle! lol

This is what you need to be focusing on for weight gain:

Bench Press
Deadlifts
Military Press
Squats

That's what I base my workout around. Each day has it's lift. (mon, tues, thurs, friday) And then of course some accessory work after that.

Anyway, these are my ideas and trust me it's been a battle for me to get from my 6' 155lb self to 200lb but after several years I am there. I could have done it a lot quicker if I knew what I knew now ... but it's a learning process.
