Exclamation Which 5x5 method works best!?

I’m finishing up a bulk phase and ready to cut. I’ve selected to use a 5x5 or a variation of a 5x5 program for my workout. I know that 5x5 isn’t ideal for cutting and is more focused on strength, but I get mentally depressed when I lift for a long time without getting stronger lol. So I plan to do some kind of 5x5 and making drastic changes to my diet and drink a lot of protein (about 250g a day) for my cutting program.

I know there’s two types of 5x5 programs. One in which you do the same weight for all 5 sets and when you can get all 5 of each set, increase the weight 5-10 lbs for the next workout. Another method is a progression using percentages where you start out with a light weight on the first set and go heavier each set after. Which program would you guys recommend? Personal experiences and advice are welcome! Which do you think would give me the best results for my makeshift cut program lol.

P.S. – An alternative I was considering for a cut program was alternating between 5x5 and 3x8 every other workout for variety and reducing chance of injury. I’m sure this may help better with cutting but not strength? Thoughts?
