You may think it's stupid but many, many people have done var only cycles with great results.

I think a low dosage of test wouldn't help my strength much, or cut bodyfat much - not really what im after.

As i said, just take this log for what it is, regardless of your opinions - lets let the results speak for themselves

I hope it works out well. I really like your exercise selection. Regardless of what happens, you're going to keep getting stronger. Keep up the good work.

Hopefully i get strong enough to qualify for the finals, but dont know if thats possible it's my first open competition an last years winner was mark felix so pretty high standard i would expect.

today i ate:

1 - oatmeal in 0.1% milk, 1 heaped teaspoon peanut butter, 3 scoops whey protein, 1 banana, 5g creatine (75g)
2 - chicken, onions, broccoli, half wheatabix in 0.1% milk (50g)
3 - chicken, onions, broccoli (40g)
4 - 2 scoops whey protein, half wheatabix in 0.1% milk (50g)
5 - 3 beef burgers, green beans (90g)
6 - chicken, green beans (60g)
7 - 2 beef burgers, 3 whole eggs cooked with 0.1% milk (85g)
8 - oatmeal in 0.1% milk, 1 heaped tea spoon peanut butter, 3 scoops whey protein (75g)

protein = 525g >im trying to get in more protein

Usually eat spinach 2-3 meals of each day but ran out today. The beef burgers are leaned out as much as possible when cooking but dont have them all the time, eat more chicken than anything but also extra lean mince beef, turkey and tuna, carbs mainly oats, sweet potatoe or rice. Didnt have any creatine yesterday an just 5g today, trying to let my skin heal. Will have 10g tomorrow.

power cleans upto 102kg 5 x 2 (lower plates than usual)
frame deadlift upto 340kg x 1, 260kg x 7
front squat (olympic grip) upto 120kg x 3
seated squat machine upto 280kg x 5
lying leg curls upto 11 plates x 6 drop 6 plates x 8
ez curls 3 x 10-15 (10+ locks each side)

Decided i wanted to work on the deadlift so didnt go the other gym an do events today - was a bad choice, hurt my back again on it, this time lower left side (another previous injury), last time was middle right side. Annoying, my body 100% hates to deadlift. Felt pretty strong otherwise, obviously couldn't push things too much with the back after deadlifts but the power cleans felt real easy > im sure i could have done 120 (contest weight on axle clean+press) today but i think the low plates helped get more drive.

I'm curious as to why you think you can't cut while on test or how you think it will not help with strength?

From other people ive trained with, logs ive read etc dont think it would be effective enough for possible sides, though obviously cheaper.

May 19th 2010

seated press reverse grip upto 60kg x 8,8,6
bench press reverse grip upto 100kg x 6,5,4 60kg x 20
incline bench press reverse grip 50kg 2 x 8
z lockouts (from forehead) 60kg 2 x 6
close grip floor press upto 100kg x 3
dumbbell laterals 12kg 3 x 12
cable lateral drop set each arm
12kg dumbbell flys x 15 superset with reverse grip pushdowns x 15 for 2 sets
lying cable flys superset with pushdowns x drop set
25kg blockweight pinch grip'd for time for 3 sets

Pretty happy with this sesh, considering i got 4 reps with 60kg on seated press last time, 100kg wasn't too heavy on bench an also the floor press (done probably with pause at bottom etc) was pretty easy even though my tri's were pretty fd by then

Going to another gym in a bit

May 24th 2010

Waist was 33 1/2in this morning.

Been in birmingham for the body power expo, met a bunch of guys ive only seen on tv or in dvd's an magazines - jay stood up signing autographs for 2 whole days straight. Terry hollands is somehow even bigger than you would think, an zack kahn has the biggest arms ive ever seen. Didnt get to train at dorian yates temple gym as plan'd since dorian was at the expo an gym was shut (didnt think of that!).

Didnt do much myself at the expo, did a feat with a dumbbell, was 58kg, 2.5in handle, oversized globes etc had to get it over your head using one hand, then if you could bend down an pick a tenner up off the floor while keeping the bell at arms length you could keep it. I dont know if any others did it after me but until i did it only jimmy marku (uks strongest man) had managed it. Other than that i just bent a nail an got a bit of air under the mellenium dumbbell with either hand (might be the youngest to do this but not a big deal as i wasn't close to fully deadlifting it).

6in deficient deadlift
- 60kg x 8
>add doubled bands<
- 60kg, 90kg, 110kg x 3
- 125kg, 140kg x 1

stiff leg deadlift
- 140kg x 6
- 180kg x 10

bottom up back squat upto 160kg x 1

power jerk upto 95kg x 2
seated reverse grip press upto 60kg x 6
bench press reverse grip upto 110kg x 2
close grip floor press upto 110kg x 2

Power jerk wasnt heavy was just too hard to rack an unrack with the setup, but my right tricep is fucked even though pressing the dumbbell was really easy, must have been the crowd etc deads were done with slight touch an go, last dead stop. Dosage is upto 60mg now.

Training again later.

dont think i got enough carbs in me before this session, first time i can think of having hunger pains since being on var, was starving towards the end of the sesh

dumbbell side bends upto 75kg x 6/6

karlsen squat upto 160kg x 8
seated squat machine upto 300kg x 6
lying leg curls upto 11 plates x 10, drop 6 plates x 6

crucifix hold upto 20kg dumbbells x 5 seconds (heh), 17.5kg x 10 seconds, 15kg x 30 seconds / raises 10kg x 10
dumbbell laterals 10kg, 12.5kg, 15kg x 10 (some assistence on the last few)

barbell rows reverse grip
- 62kg x 15, 102kg x 5 (heh), drop 62kg x 7
one arm dumbbell rows upto 75kg x 8/7
dumbbell shrugs upto 80kg x 12

felt strongish on everything expect pressing today, but that will be because of the tricep

dumbbell laterals upto 40lbs x 8 plus two drops
seated press reverse grip upto 50kg 3 x 10
bench press reverse grip upto 110kg x 1 then 80kg x 15 or so reg grip medium/close/wide
floor press medium grip 80kg, 90kg x 10
seated z lockouts 60kg, 70kg x 12 (bit higher than last time)
dumbbell flys upto 45lbs x 12 plus one drop
ez curls 3 x reps (12.5kg each side)
alternate hammer curls upto 60lbs x 5/5
seated preacher curls x 12
dips x 30,20
tricep pushdowns regular grip x 10 then reverse grip x 8 for 2 sets

was hitting pins on reverse grip bench but think it's starting to hurt my right shoulder, this may just be because of the wide grip as it feels exactly the same as when i do wide grip bench for a while - will change back to regular grip
