Oh, you mean to get the scapula out of the way? Yeah definitely, otherwise you're just rolling over bone. I think it was the side to side vertical thing that got my back a little weird. I've done that before but I'm not sure it is a good idea to just suddenly start doing that pre-workout if you're not used to it. But like I said, I feel great today so really, that's what counts.

BTW, another thing I like to do is lay on the roller vertically like that, and with the hands behind the head, stretch the pecs, etc, actively. I've also started doing dumbell pressups on the roller like that...it gives you nice range of motion.

OH, btw, didn't do the wrist stuff. Both of my wrists are already wonky, especially the right one. I have to say I don't get "stretching" the wrists pre-workout. I prefer to just do wrist rotations and put on muscle rub, lol. I'm not sure what the rationale there is but I felt sure it would end up causing me pain during my workout.

Yes, I did the whole thing yesterday, as best I could, before upper body..benching, pullups, dips, etc...

It was good although a bit weird in the back during the workout. Feel great today! Thanks, pity.

OH, yeah, I got your last e-mail. Sorry I thought I already told you. The pics look like what I thought it was saying. I think you described it well. The thing about those movements is that it could be easy for some to get a LOT of lumbar rotation doing that. Something to watch.

Similarly MR and EC no longer recommend scorpions and yoga twists for a general audience. I feel pretty comfortable doing them because I know what my spine is doing by now but you can see how many people, expecially those who already have excessive lumbar mobility could get more harm than good out of those without one on one coaching.
