Default Ketogenic Dieting

I currently weigh 232lbs and want to start the keto diet. It's been difficult trying to plan my meals working 50 hours a week and trying to finish graduate school.

I have my intake planned:

232 x 12cal/lb = 2784 calories

Protein= 0.8g/lb= 232 x 0.8 = 185.6g (742 calories)
Carbs= 10g (40 calories)
Fats= 2784 - 742 - 40 = 2020 calories or 224g

Now protein is easy, but how do I get 224g of fats without going of 10g of carbs. Should I just be eating EVOO?

How did you come up with those numbers ?

0.8g of protein per pound ?

Try and get your percentages to a 60-40 or 50-50 ( Fat / Protein ) carbs should be as low as possible.

Here's what I've always done:

A protein shake: protein powder, flax seed oil, and water. If I remember correctly, a tablespoon of flax seed oil is 100 calories (you'd have to go back and check, but I think that's right). Doesn't taste that great, especially after drinking them daily. But it's a quick way to get lots of high quality fat that's very easy to measure in terms of calories.

My understanding is that the body will burn roughly equal amounts of fats/proteins in ketoacidosis. Keep your protein high so it burns fats you already have. Consume at least the RDA of fats with essential micronutrients (e.g. flax seed oil, fish oils) so you don't create a toxic imbalance.

Consume enough calories so your body does not think food is scarce in your environment and begins to horde calories and conserve energy.

There are essential fats and essential oils and even essential amino acids(e.g. protein) but a noticeable absence of essential carbohydrates. Think about that.
