how much protein?
hey guys, this may be a dumb question but i have read many different opinions on it. In lots of books i read, including the first time i learned about keto, i have been told to count calories...which obviously makes sense. However, upon reading many of the pro's sites, they say they eat unlimited amounts of lean protein and just keep the carbs in check. Jay cutler claims to eat two pounds of fish/chicken every two hours. certainly this is way too many calories for weight loss right? or is the lack of carbs enough to ensure losing the fat? i am currently taking in around 500g of protein a day and 90g of carbs and this formula i use has worked for me in the past. however if i were to increase the protein would it spare more muscle? thanks.

No. That's a lot of protein. If you increased your calories, it would spare more muscle. But changing the ratio won't make any difference if you're going to leave caloric intake the same and just consume more protein in lieu of carbs.

In your particular case, iszeng, it doesn't matter, because you're just gonna lose all your muscle and get fat anyway. It's basically hopeless.

Jay Cutler is also 300lbs . Not sure how much you weight , but I would say if you were to eat 2lbs of chicken / fish per DAY not meal that would be ok.
