Man breasts
Ok guys im sat here with a friend and we are unclear about something that we hope you can clear up. My friend is 48 years old has trained in the past, mainly cardio. He suffers from man breasts and had surgery two years ago to remove the fat from his chest. So now he has a flat chest. However i believe he may of got the same or better results from a good training program and diet, he disagrees and says you cant spot reduce fat in certain parts of the body ( doing cadio and bench presses to reduce fat in the chest) How is right here guys?

Well, you cannot spot reduce in just one region. But, if he had reduced fat in general and at the same time trained heavy and smartly to recruit muscle fibers, he would've packed on some muscle. This is the short version of the approach which IMO he should have taken.

Can genectics have some roll here, If he followed your idea Wolf would he have been able to rid himself of most of the fat, thus having no man breasts.

If his genes allowed him to, it would've happened more easily. If he had terrible genes he would've needed to be more patient and train differently.

It depends if you are talking about fat cells or or breast tissue. I have gyno that no matter how much I diet down it will be there cause it is, well some fat, but breast tissue or gland.
It well may be hereditary, cause my kid, who carries a little extra weight, but is not really fat, has the same thing as me

^^ as Joker said, there is a huge difference between gyno (men developing breast tissue) and having fat on your chest.
If he simply had fat removed from his chest, I would venture to say that he may have been able to correct this without the surgery.

i can relate to this ive had the surgury too about a year ago. when your freind had the meeting with the doctor the doctor should have been able to figure out it cause almost every doctor will ask you if you have tried exercise and every other option but im most cases of gynecomastia(man boobs) surgury is the only way ,it was in my case anyways,i was in real good shape besides that area hell at that time i was ripped and i was told no matter how much i train the best i could do was build some muscle over it i could never work it off trust me 2 years of working my chest and extreme cardio ,weight loss pills everything. is your freind fat besides in his breast ? if so most doctors would tell you to lose weight and see what happens and would refuse the surgury as it is dangerous and should be a last option but if not then its good he got the surgury cause like i said in most cases of gynecomastia(man boobs) in average males of average built it will not go away no matter what if it is breast tissue or fatty tissue it doesnt matter. and thats a fact speaking from experience and alot of knowledge on this and google it if you want.
