Default what should i do here.

ok, ive only got 35 pounds on bench to go untill i start my first cutting cycle. the problem is HIIT training doesn't seem like it will increase my cardiovascular abilities for football practice (not needed for actually playing line). should i just do longer slow jogging or both or what? id like to be able to do a 8 minute mile (currently about a 10.5) and loose a little weight so i dont have to buy bigger around pants.

Long slow jogging is fine for fat burining but it's not what you want for football. Unless you like to take a long slow jog on the field during the game. You want relatively high intensities for you "cardio" training. Something like 80% for continuous type stuff. And yes HIIT fits into that as well. It can and will increase VO2 max more quickly and improve cardio fitness a great deal. I'd say use a mixture of whatever you like but don't bother with the jogging.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

beleive it or not, being an offensive lineman doesn't get the chicks, something about having a gut and no muscular definition they dont like. also, i know im not gunna play college ball because im to short so id like to loose the gut and get a chin again. thats pretty much it, that and id be the strongest skill player on the team if i loose enough to play fullback or tightend. which would be cool.

to be a better football player, id hit the squats and power cleans, work those legs bro. footwork agility and a lot of hand eye corrdination dirlls. a football player isnt made in the weight room, go out and run, and do drills. if you need some drill ideas let me know. i play football in college
