Default tanning

does getting a natural tan make you look more defined? i see bodybuilders with these orange tans... is this a reason for getting tanned?

From the bible (Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding"):

Quote:
When a light skinned bodybuilder stands under the bright lights on stage the illumination tends to wash him out and makes it difficult for the judges to see his definition and development. The way to avoid this is by getting a good, even tan.
But be careful...tanning can be a tricky thing when you consider the health of your skin.

The only reason is to see definition. The bodybuilders on stage use bronzers which are made for competition and get them extremely dark. You don't need to go to that level, just hit the local tanning beds and use some lotion for a nice tan.

I'm a pretty light guy naturally so I find I really need to tan to look good especially during winter and into the spring. I was against tanning for the longest time, but you would be surprised at the amount of guys at these places. It is also a "hotbed" for beautiful women :P

Wink I hate you tanners

only because I'm Irish and fair skinned and can't tan to save my ass . I use the spray tans you can get at the tanning salons. it freaked me out the first time because I didn't' know what to expect and I was afraid to breath in the spray stuff, but I got use to it. and After doing it, I got a lot of compliments from friends and asked if I had gone to the beach  . I'm actually going tonight or tomorrow for a Luau party.

I think it depends on the brand you get. what I've heard is you have a "base" coat/tan on that is relatively dark and then they grease you up with a darkening type oil that does wash out but it could take a couple of days depending on the brand.

check this out.

Tanning salons are the best bet. I don't like the idea of chemicals clogging up my pores. I still sometimes hit the tanning beds and it always produced results. Start off with 5 minutes a time if you're really white, then increase both the times and visits over time. It won't happen after one or two visits. Plus, there's alot of trim that love a guy who takes pride in his appearance. ;)

Yeah! It's summer. Use the rays. I already got a pretty good tan base from this past week. It was GORGEOUS here last week (Memorial Day weekend thru Wednesday). I was out fishing almost every day and tanned right up (just need a little more on my back).

Maybe I'll go to the nude ("clothing optional") beach, and finish the job.

The "clothing optional" beach near me is a bunch of older folks with no bodies to speak of (mostly fat!). They might be swingers, I don't know. There are a few gays, too, who may be cruising or may be just cock watching. There there are also hot chicks! Mostly dancers who are looking to get the all around tan.

I was dating a girl (not a dancer, but w/ a dancer's bod) who liked to not have tan lines, so I joined her. Once I got past the old folks and the gays (it wasn't that bad) and decided to just lay out...it was just like any other day at the beach (just had to make sure to cover up certain places after a while!)
