Default tanning

does getting a natural tan make you look more defined? i see bodybuilders with these orange tans... is this a reason for getting tanned?

From the bible (Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding"):

Quote:
When a light skinned bodybuilder stands under the bright lights on stage the illumination tends to wash him out and makes it difficult for the judges to see his definition and development. The way to avoid this is by getting a good, even tan.
But be careful...tanning can be a tricky thing when you consider the health of your skin.

The only reason is to see definition. The bodybuilders on stage use bronzers which are made for competition and get them extremely dark. You don't need to go to that level, just hit the local tanning beds and use some lotion for a nice tan.

I'm a pretty light guy naturally so I find I really need to tan to look good especially during winter and into the spring. I was against tanning for the longest time, but you would be surprised at the amount of guys at these places. It is also a "hotbed" for beautiful women :P

Wink I hate you tanners

only because I'm Irish and fair skinned and can't tan to save my ass . I use the spray tans you can get at the tanning salons. it freaked me out the first time because I didn't' know what to expect and I was afraid to breath in the spray stuff, but I got use to it. and After doing it, I got a lot of compliments from friends and asked if I had gone to the beach  . I'm actually going tonight or tomorrow for a Luau party.

I think it depends on the brand you get. what I've heard is you have a "base" coat/tan on that is relatively dark and then they grease you up with a darkening type oil that does wash out but it could take a couple of days depending on the brand.

check this out.
