Default Shopping for Suits and Sport Jackets.

I never knew bodybuilding could get so expensive. I went to two local men's stores looking to get a new sport jacket and neither one of them could really fit me. They ended up putting me into a 48 just to accomodate my chest/shoulders but would have to take in the waist a ton which both tailors said was impossible. Both recommended I go get a custom one made which is going to cost double the price.

I know I am bigger than the average guy but I figured they could still fit me into an off the shelf jacket and just relieve some stress in the arms. My arms are only 17" inches which is nothing compared to alot of guys on the boards. Turns out I need something along the lines of 48 athletic cut in order to fit my shoulders and arms. I guess the athletic cuts are broader up top and narrow in around the waist. Problem is no one really stocks them.

Where do you guys go to get your professional attire? I am thinking about trying a Big and Tall shop but even there I am probally considered small.

Same boat as you. Custom is really the only way to go. If I were to buy a ready made one, they would pretty much have to alter the entire damn thing. It makes much more sense to start from scratch while copying the style of an designer one.

I need to wait until I am happy with my bodymass before I invest in a good suit.

I need a 46" chest and its need to be a tall (long arms) and the things looked like shit off the shelf because my waist is only a 32. I needed one in a hurry so I bought it. I took the buttons on the front and moved them a little bit so the jacket closed a little more. It wasn't noticeable or anything, but that extra bit helped to make it look better. If you could do that if you're in a pinch. Don't really have a long term solution for ya though lol.

im glad im fat now. lol. my 44" chest and 40" waist made buying my suit a breeze. the only problem was my arms are about 1" too short. but i wear it 1-2 times a year so its no big deal.

athletic cut is the way to go, depending on what brand, you will only need slight modifications. all my suits are that cut, and fit pretty well.
