Default An introduction as it were.

Hello everyone. I stumbled upon this website via a fat loss article linked to here. Since reading it I have grown to browse here quite often and decided to take the plunge.

I am 26 years old, from South Carolina. I started weight training on June 26, 2006. I stand 6'1" and my starting weight was 387 lbs.

As of March 12, 2007 my current weight is 306 lbs. As you can probably guess I was strutting around the house like I just conquered it via the sword, however I still haven't reached my goal of 240 lbs, but hope to be there or beyond that by next November.

What inspired me to do this was a two-fold process resulting from the same incident. In May of 2006 I lost my father, I had made a promise to him to get some weight off. At his reception I had an old lady tell me I was "too damn fat and was going to die soon", that pretty much set the event into motion.

Starting out was rather brutal. I did very little lifting and mostly cardio. Starting on a treadmill with a speed of 1.5 mph for 30 mins, and then moving on to an eliptical. The eliptical proved to be a widow maker, and eye opener as I could only run about at a speed of 3.0 for about a minute without getting gassed.

Willpower saw me through. After the first month I started adding weight training to my regimen. I had a paltry bench of 40lbs, now I work with 150lbs.

Now my cardio regiment (which I still hate btw, I would rather jump on a bike with no seat than do cardio, but alas I have'ta do it) is around 3 miles on mon, wed, and thurs, with tuesday being 6 miles, as I do twice then with no lifting.

At any rate this is starting to sound like a list of accomplishments which it wasn't intended to be. So in other words....hi.
