This may be pretty late, but welcome, Fishfood! If your wife is complaining about your new lifestyle habits, compare them to other, unhealthy/undesirable habits-going to the bar every night, SMOKING, etc. That should put things in perspective for her. She may even jump on board, and become more involved in the fitness community!

Hi John,

My wife is not really complaining about my modified lifestyle habits, except that she would like to come to the gym if it wasn't at 4:30 in the morning (she's NOT a morning person). She is eating better now with me, and is fully supportive of my decision. Ironically, just like you said, she states that she would rather have me obsessed with working out than smoking or binge drinking
