Newb trying to gain a little
So yeah, I'm a newb on here, I've been reading for a few days already. Still learning the site a little before I question some of you on how to gain a few more pounds.

welcome to the site. I am fairly new on here as well .... only been on here about a week now. This place is full of knowledge as I have already found out. The stickies on top of each sub-forum are very helpful to read.

Have fun and good luck with reaching your goals :)

Hey, Twiztid, welcome. What's up? To gain muscle mass, regardless of the amount, you want to invest in some whey protein powder. This can be found at Wal-Mart, or most other grocery stores. The brand/price doesn't matter, what does matter, is the protein content. Shoot for about 30 grams of protein per 40 gram serving. That is the basic, and most important supplement. You can invest in others if you want to, also, like creatine, and dextrose, or maltodextrin.

-As far as the exercises, stick to compound exercises-basically, do exercises where several muscle groups are involved, like squats, deadlifts, benchpress, rows, and chinups.

-Eat a lot, and clean, healthy foods.

-Get at least 7 hours of sleep a night, more if possible.

Do that, and you're off to a good start. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you sirs for your input. I already have some whey protein, as well as the black stack, I just need to find the time to eat 6 meals a day and find out the best diet for my needs. I'm trying to get to ATLEAST 200 pounds, I'm close 188 but,i seem to be gaining all the weight in the mid-section and not the arms or chest as I had hoped.
Again thank you for the warm welcome and I'm sure there will be a lot of questions to be asked.

that makes me wonder what you're eating :)

TwiztidMetal 07-17-2008 05:04 PM

usually oatmeal and protein shake for breakfast, Roasted potatoes for lunch ( not too much though) and a protein shake from GNC ( i work in a mall) and more than likely chicken with rice for dinner. And before bed a few spoonfuls of cottage cheese.

i should also mention I dont really have a gym membership money is a little tight these days. But I do have about 140 pounds of free weights and a pull up bar at home, and access to the "gym" at my apartment complex. It has the Nautilus NS600 machine and a couple of treadmills. Those are the limitations i have to work through, so if you guys could help me reach my goals with what i have to work with, well quite frankly that would be awsome.
