Hey guys, I'm Surprise and I came here to take my training a little more seriously. I'm currently a freshman at Michigan State University and have been weight training for about a year and a half, mostly unsuccessfully. Part of this is because I thought gaining weight was simple and easy. I figured I could just go to the gym, hit some machines, and get ripped in no time. Hilarious in retrospect, but this was basically my thinking at the time. My diet was also pretty bad, and I simply wasn't eating enough. Finally, I think some amount of my failure had to do with my training for a half marathon, which I completed in May (great experience). Its pretty hard to bulk up with that much cardio, and obviously my skills were not up to the task. I don't think I'm a hardgainer, just someone who doesn't really know what he's doing xD

I realized I wasn't meeting the goals I had for myself and started researching why I was failing. That is how I found this forum. I was hoping I could get some advice on diet and exercise plans from people that actually know how to bulk up. My goals are to gain around 30lbs of muscle or more in a year or less. I'm currently 150 and 6'2 so I don't think this should be too unrealistic (I may be wrong).

I'm currently hoping to start this program I found on another forum. Here is the link Click Me I was hoping someone would check it out and let me know if its legit.

My diet plan is to consume above 4000 calories a day. Fortunately, I have access to as much food as I can eat because of my meal plan for college. My problem is I have no idea what the nutritional statistics are for this food. I've been trying to look it up on [URL="http://calorielab.com"]this/URL]website. Its a pretty inaccurate method though, so if somebody has a better idea, I'd love to hear it.

Overall thoughts on this plan guys? Constructive criticism is great, but proposing a better method for me to achieve my goals and giving reasons why is golden. I'm definitely a newbie, but I'm motivated and I put the hard work in to get my shit done. Any advice I'm given won't be wasted.

Thanks!

Surprise
