The way I would go about doing a clean bulk is purely with diet.

Losing fat and gaining mass is very tough to do effectively. You will not gain nearly as much mass as a regular bulk and you won't lose as much as a dedicated cut.

I would stick with a good mass routine and really watch your carb and fat intake. You still need carbs but dont go overboard on them. You know your body better than I do so stick with an amount of carbs that will keep you from losing your mind, won't make you fat and will still allow for gains. That sounds like its alot to focus on but its not as hard as it sounds.

As for a routine, HST, OVT, Rippetoe's, GVT, you might want to look at those and some of the others posted in the workout routines article. Since it will be a slow go you definitely want a routine that will keep you motivated and keep boredom away.

I've always tried to convince people that the easiest way to get rid of a bit of flab or fat is to hide it with muscle. A little flab on the chest will disappear once you start to develop some pecs.
