Ash, in order to grow to your potential you need to train hard, get the proper rest and feed the body with quality nutrients. To max out your potential you definitely need protein and for most people their diet is simply not enough. Sentinel gave you a lot of good information on taking protein powders and increasing your water intake. Protein is NOT bad for you at all and will help transform you into the monster you want to be. Train hard and good luck.

That is bullshit. People rely on doctors even when they dont know their stuff.

I just had a blood and urine test done. I have consumed massive amounts of protein powder for 17 years now, in addition to high protein food. There was some protein in my urine meaning that I eat over the consumption and some protein passes my kidneys. Absolutely no problem at all. Krea -values were good.

Muscles are built with protein. If you want to gain muscle you have to make sure that your body gets all it needs. A protein deficit will not bring you results.

^^ Agreed. If you're going to take the advice of a doctor, make sure the doctor is an expert in THAT field. A general family doctor will not be well versed in the field of bodybuilding (usually). If you want advice on protein intake and its effects or something to do with a sport, you need to talk to someone in sports medicine or some field where they deal with that on a regular basis.

I've had doctors tell me that deadlifting is the worse thing for your back (as well as trainers and physiotherapists believe it or not), but what they mostly see are the people blowing discs in their back because of improper form and basically stupidity.

BTW, stating the function of the kidneys does not speak towards the claim of kidney damage. You would have to provide a study stating the cause of kidney damage due to excess protein intake among weightlifters and athletes.

I would think you'd see a shit load of bodybuilders with kidney failure. I've yet to see that. It's up to you, but you'll never grow to your potential without enough protein. You can't build a brick wall with a bunch of workers and no bricks.

I will also have to agree with these last few posts !! First off ... General doctors know nothing about good nutrition ... best they can do is advise on Vitamins ! They do not know anything about sports medicine as someone pointed out !
Secondly have you ever heard of cases of people overdosing on protein LOL !! If your body consumes too much it will just Piss it out ! END OF ! And if your looking to bulk up your going to need as much protein as you can get hold of !

Good pictures a toned physique is a good starting point ! Now you just need to bulk / cut !

wow u guys have alot of information...thx for ur advice sentinel, i will start using ur formula soon....i didnt actually ask my doctor about the protein damage stuff btw, i just heard it from my friends...they told me if u need to get big then u gotta take protein supplements and some told me that it will damage ur kidneys....what u said about the excess water will stop the damage of excess proteins was very logical and i think u may be right about that, Sentinel.

Widoes, ur a pro and what u said was great advice. Thanks dude and good luck to u too.

Good Luck to all bodybuilders here. Peace
